Walking In Light

Are you in a place of uncertainty? Does the path in front of you bring a state of fear? Do you feel like the enemy is closing in?

You are NOT alone. While you are in the wilderness, God is right there leading the way. Are you following Him?

Exodus 14: 19-20

“Then the angel of God, who had been traveling in front of Israel’s army, withdrew and went behind them. The pillar of cloudalso moved from in front and stood behind them, coming between the armies of Egypt and Israel. Throughout the night the cloud brought darkness to the one side and light to the other side; so neither went near the other all night long.”

The Israelites were finally being released from a long exile in Egypt. God’s Hand was delivering them, and yet they did not fully trust His plan. As a matter of fact, when circumstances became confusing and uncertain for them, they actually questioned whether they were better off returning to their slavery. Even though it was a poor way to live, it was one they already knew.

Why? What if this? What if that?

I’m at a time in my life where I’ve been in a period of waiting, and the weight can almost seem unbearable. I struggle with trust…and submission. My time in the wilderness is WAY longer than I ever expected or hoped. Like the Israelites, I want to know ALL the details of God’s escape plan.

Just like God guided the Israelites in a cloud by day and fire by night, God goes before you and me to lead us through whatever scary we face.

But do You see what He does here? When the enemy is hot on their heels, God moves behind the Israelites to shield them. Darkness on the side of the enemy, and Light on the side of His people.

What else??? They. Don’t. Even. Come. Close. To. Each. Other. We are fully protected. While all we can see is helplessness, God sees a means to proclaim His Glory.

We are on the side of Light. Walk forward…keep moving…because God is providing that way forward.

Give me courage. Give me strength to walk in Your path. I cannot overcome, but You will!
