It’s time to let go. Move on from the pain. Get up from the shadows. Stand firm in His Name. It won’t be by my will Because I have no more to give. But I hear Him calling “Dear child it’s time to live.” It’s time to open my eyes And see the many blessings around. Time to look beyond myself And know in Him I am found. For tomorrow is not promised. Only today He gives me enough Strength, perseverance, and courage To recognize true joy in the rough. It’s time to stop living For better times up ahead When God is doing great things With my life right now instead. No more hiding in darkness Or feeling alone in life’s race. For today there is rejoicing Because God’s in this place. It’s time to step to the side And let God’s purpose prevail. Know He’s in control of my life. With Him I have a story to tell. Lord, allow me to submit And watch Your glory shine bright. I thank you for the difficulties As they have given me sight. It’s time to refocus and see clearly How Your Hand has been in ALL things. Today I will not take for granted The life Your Spirit brings. It’s time to let go. Move on from the pain. Get up from the shadows. Stand firm in His Name.

You Handle It
(Photo cred: Clem Onojeghuo on Unsplash)
I just can’t. Just cannot handle it any more. (And my “it” changes frequently.)
I have recently found myself questioning all the things. Why these circumstances? What did I do to cause this behavior? Will things ever change?
What HAS changed? My desire for a different perspective and a shifting of my priorities during the pandemic…a gift really. I’m working on becoming who God has called me to be. And yet I still find myself wrapped up in the worries of this world.
Walking In Light
Are you in a place of uncertainty? Does the path in front of you bring a state of fear? Do you feel like the enemy is closing in?
You are NOT alone. While you are in the wilderness, God is right there leading the way. Are you following Him?
Exodus 14: 19-20
“Then the angel of God, who had been traveling in front of Israel’s army, withdrew and went behind them. The pillar of cloudalso moved from in front and stood behind them, coming between the armies of Egypt and Israel. Throughout the night the cloud brought darkness to the one side and light to the other side; so neither went near the other all night long.”
The Israelites were finally being released from a long exile in Egypt. God’s Hand was delivering them, and yet they did not fully trust His plan. As a matter of fact, when circumstances became confusing and uncertain for them, they actually questioned whether they were better off returning to their slavery. Even though it was a poor way to live, it was one they already knew.
Why? What if this? What if that?

Looking for God to show up in your life? Walking a path that’s hard and difficult?
God promises to meet us, wherever we are and in whatever condition we may be. Not only will He meet us, but He will rescue, protect, forgive, and love us unconditionally. But often WE are the ones standing in the way of God’s immense blessing for our lives.
Turn to Matthew 15: 29-39.
Jesus has just miraculously fed 4,000 men (plus women and children) with seven loaves of bread and a few small fish. Everyone ate and all were satisfied…AND they had seven basketfuls of broken pieces LEFTOVER. Jesus gave in abundance…OVERFLOWING!
Why? The scripture tells us because of His COMPASSION. God wants more than anything to fill us up with His Spirit, His mercies, His eternal perspective. Are we prepared to accept His eternal and abundant Bread?

I’m sure you’ve heard the saying, “Life is too short not to be happy.” So why does this concept make me cringe every time I hear it? Why are we so focused on doing whatever it takes to be happy?
Life is NOT about our happiness!! Harsh? Nope. It’s the Truth.
If you are a believer in Christ, your life’s worth is not a measure of your happiness.
In the Storm
Are you feeling like you are in the midst of a storm that keeps knocking you down? Everywhere you turn are there high winds and capsizing waves? You are not alone, friend. Many of us are in the throws of back to school pandemic style and the overwhelming circumstances can seem daunting at best. But don’t get stuck there!
Do you remember the story of Jesus walking on water? It’s one I have read and studied many times, and yet God used this passage to teach me new things this week. Mark 6:45-56 sets the stage for Jesus rescuing his disciples from a storm that was overtaking them. They were alone in the middle of the lake, and Jesus walked on water to come to their rescue. As a matter of fact, as soon as Jesus came aboard their boat, the wind died down. The storm was gone.
A few key pieces stuck out to me this time: Continue reading In the Storm
3 Things I Learned From Rahab The Prostitute
Joshua Chapter 2 introduces us to a woman named Rahab who encountered two Israelite spies secretly going out to scout the Promised Land. The story begins with Rahab welcoming the two spies into her home for safe hiding. The king of Jericho hears of the men’s presence in his land and goes to confront Rahab of their whereabouts when she sends the king and his men off in the wrong direction.
Rahab then tells the Israelite men that she knows who God is, how word has spread of the miracle of their journey out of Egypt. While her land is fearful of their God, she wants to help. In return, she is asking for safety for her entire family. The oath between Rahab and the spies would be bound when she threw a scarlet chord out of the window upon them re-entering the land. This would be a sign that she remained true to her promise to keep their secret.
It wasn’t until I unpacked this story that I began to understand the many Truths of God through Rahab…

More Than Words
Lately, I have been at a loss for words. Actually, I’ve been afraid to say much at all for fear that my words may be taken out of context, misconstrued, or misinterpreted. Honestly, I’ve felt this way for a long while which is why blogging has been a challenge for me.
As I was struggling with my thoughts this week, I came across 1 John 3:18:
“Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions in truth.”
Let us love not with words but with ACTION, action in Truth.
1Peter 3:8-9
1 Peter 3:8-9
“Finally, all of you, be like-minded, be sympathetic, love one another, be compassionate and humble. Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult. On the contrary, repay evil with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing.”
Who Knows?
Right now many of us are facing significant challenges. Our world literally stopped 6 weeks ago and the aftermath of this pandemic continues.
But what didn’t come to a standstill? Life. People still face illnesses, broken marriages, deep hurt, and even death. Those things don’t just stop.
Facing difficult circumstances can be just a bit less intimidating when you connect with others who are either walking the same path or who are several paces ahead of you. These people understand your journey in a way others can’t. They get it because they have walked it.
